Ten mandatory-topic menu: controlled substances/pain mgmt; recordkeeping/risk mgmt; infection control; access to care; HIPAA; medical emergencies incl. CPR; sexual assault/domestic abuse; cultural competence; veteran mental health; diagnostic technology. HYGIENISTS (16 hrs): must include 1 hour infection control and 1 hour cultural competency. LIVE/SELF-STUDY: internet/distance learning accepted; no explicit live-vs-self-study cap found. Up to 10 hours may be earned via volunteer dental practice (8 hrs volunteer = 1 CE hour).
