No CE for basic dental assistants. Expanded Function Dental Assistants (EFDAs): CE is a condition of renewal (secondary sources cite ~50 hrs over a 5-year cycle, min 30 classroom) — verify exact figure with the board. Dental therapists: 40 hrs/2 yrs (18 hrs annually).

Hygienists: 15 hrs/yr (30/biennium), at least 12 hrs/yr (24/biennium) clinical. Mandatory: at least 2 hrs/yr (4/biennium) infection control for all licensees. Current CPR/BLS (or ACLS/PALS) certification required. Home study/online/self-study capped at 50% of required hours. One-time 4-hr bioterrorism course (NRS 631.342) required within 2 years of initial licensure. Controlled-substance registrants: at least 2 hrs per licensure period on controlled-substance misuse/abuse/opioid prescribing/addiction. Renewals must be RECEIVED (not postmarked) by June 30.
