Nevada dentist CE requirements

Dentists in Nevada: 40 hours / 2 years (20 hrs annually). Renewal-cycle notes: Requirements stated annually and can be met biennially (NAC 631.173/631.175). Dentists: 20 hrs/yr (40/biennium), of which at least 15 hrs/yr (30/biennium) in clinical subjects. Hygienists: 15 hrs/yr (30/biennium), at least 12 hrs/yr (24/biennium) clinical. Mandatory: at least 2 hrs/yr (4/biennium) infection control for all licensees. Current CPR/BLS (or ACLS/PALS) certification required. Home study/online/self-study capped at 50% of required hours. One-time 4-hr bioterrorism course (NRS 631.342) required within 2 years of initial licensure. Controlled-substance registrants: at least 2 hrs per licensure period on controlled-substance misuse/abuse/opioid prescribing/addiction. Renewals must be RECEIVED (not postmarked) by June 30.
