Dental hygienists in Michigan: 36 hours / 3 years. Renewal-cycle notes: 3-year cycle. Dentists (60 hrs): 3 hrs pain & symptom management, 1 hr dental ethics & jurisprudence (incl. delegation of duties to allied dental personnel), 1 hr infection control (hand-piece sterilization/PPE/CDC guidelines), one-time 1-hr human trafficking recognition. Implicit bias training required IN ADDITION to the 60 (min 1 hr per year of the license cycle; initial applicants need 2 hrs within prior 5 yrs). Must carry current BLS/CPR card (no CE credit).
