Michigan dental license renewal CE requirements

For dental license renewal in Michigan, dentists need 60 hours / 3 years and dental hygienists need 36 hours / 3 years. Dental assistants: Registered Dental Assistants (RDA): 36 hours / 3 years, same structure as hygienists — 2 hrs pain/symptom management, 1 hr ethics & jurisprudence (incl. delegation to allied personnel), 1 hr infection control, one-time 1-hr human trafficking; ~12 of 36 in credential-specific courses; implicit bias training (1 hr per license-year, additional to the 36); must maintain BLS/CPR. Up to 18 of 36 hrs may be asynchronous/online.. 3-year cycle. Dentists (60 hrs): 3 hrs pain & symptom management, 1 hr dental ethics & jurisprudence (incl. delegation of duties to allied dental personnel), 1 hr infection control (hand-piece sterilization/PPE/CDC guidelines), one-time 1-hr human trafficking recognition. Implicit bias training required IN ADDITION to the 60 (min 1 hr per year of the license cycle; initial applicants need 2 hrs within prior 5 yrs). Must carry current BLS/CPR card (no CE credit). Format: min 20 hrs classroom/in-person seminar/interactive live webinar; up to 30 hrs online/recorded webinar; up to ~10 hrs self-study reading. Hygienists & assistants mirror at 36 hrs with 2 hrs pain/symptom mgmt, 1 hr ethics/jurisprudence, 1 hr infection control, 1-hr one-time human trafficking; min 12 classroom hrs, up to 18 online.
