Assistant CE
No CE requirement — Florida does not license or register dental assistants generally, and no CE is required (radiography/expanded-function certificates are training-based, not CE-hour based)
2-year biennium; licenses expire February 28 of even-numbered years. DENTISTS 30 hrs, HYGIENISTS 24 hrs. Mandatory courses (count toward totals unless noted): 2-hr Prevention of Medical Errors every biennium; 2-hr HIV/AIDS at first renewal; 2-hr Domestic Violence every THIRD biennium; 2-hr safe/effective prescribing of Controlled Substances every biennium (applies to dentists who prescribe). CPR/BLS: current BLS-level CPR certification required (must be a LIVE course; in addition to CE hours). LIVE/SELF-STUDY CAP: no stated maximum on self-study hours (courses may be live, interactive distance learning, or self-study via board-approved providers). Governed by Fla. Admin.
