Dental assistants in Kentucky: No state CE requirement (Kentucky Board of Dentistry does not license dental assistants). Renewal-cycle notes: Biennial. Dentist CE due by Dec 31 of odd-numbered years; hygienist CE due by Dec 31 of even-numbered years. At least 10 of the 30 hours must be live/interactive; at least 20 hours must be clinical. CPR/BLS must be kept current but does NOT count toward the 30 hours. Dentists who prescribe controlled substances: 3 hours in KASPER, pain management, or... Confirm current role-specific requirements with the Kentucky dental board before renewing.
