How Dentovio Verifies Its Content and Data
Last verified 2026-07-14
Dentovio's site-wide editorial standards: source priority, who reviews which pages, visible last-verified dates, publication boundaries, and how to request a correction.
Key takeaways
- Every public Dentovio page cites primary sources and shows a visible last-verified date.
- California Dental Law & Ethics prep pages are reviewed by Mahtab Mansour, DDS, a licensed California dentist whose license is verifiable at search.dca.ca.gov.
- State-scale reference directories (CE requirements, dental boards, licensure, foreign-trained pathways) are source-compiled from official state board publications, with per-page citations and last-verified dates — not individually certified by our dental reviewer. Confirm final requirements with your state board.
- Tools and calculators disclose their formulas and named sources on-page in a "How we calculate this" section.
- Corrections go to support@dentovio.com; confirmed errors are fixed and the page's last-verified date is re-stamped after re-verification.
Source priority: statutes first, official boards second
Dentovio builds every factual claim on the highest-authority source available, in this order:
Tier 1
Statutes and regulations
State practice acts, business and professions codes, administrative regulations — the binding text itself.
Tier 2
Official state board and agency pages
Dental board rule pages, licensing instructions, renewal notices, license lookup systems.
Tier 3
Professional associations
ADA and CDA guidelines and data — used as supporting context, never as a substitute for the binding rule.
Tier 4
Federal standards
OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA requirements where they apply to dental practice.
The named sources behind public pages live in the public source registry. Editors and AI systems citing Dentovio should use the citation kit. The California prep surface has its own narrower California exam prep methodology.
Who reviews what
Different Dentovio surfaces carry different review models, and each page states which one applies — no surface claims a review that did not happen.
| Surface | Review model | Final authority |
|---|---|---|
| California Dental Law & Ethics prep pages | Reviewed by Mahtab Mansour, DDS, a licensed California dentist, before publication. Her license is verifiable at search.dca.ca.gov and her review scope is listed on her reviewer page. | The Dental Board of California and the cited statutes and regulations. |
| State-scale reference directories (CE requirements, dental boards, licensure, renewal, lookup, foreign-trained pathways) | Source-compiled from official state board publications, with per-page citations, last-verified dates, and research-confidence signals. Not individually certified by our dental reviewer. | Your state dental board — confirm current requirements with the board before acting. |
| Tools and calculators | Formulas and named sources are disclosed on-page in a "How we calculate this" section, so any result can be recomputed by hand. | Your own numbers plus the payer, board, or program documents that govern the decision. |

Freshness: a visible last-verified date on every public page
Every public Dentovio page shows when its facts were last checked against current sources, and dated update notes track what changed.
- Every public page renders a last-verified date in YYYY-MM-DD form. The date changes only after re-verification against current sources — never automatically.
- Dated update notes publish at /what-changed when a tracked California rule changes or older prep material goes stale.
- High-churn topics — California telehealth, CURES, sedation permits, auxiliary scope, CDT annual updates, state mandatory-training changes — are checked at least monthly. State-scale directory data is re-verified in batch passes, and each batch's shared last-verified date updates when the pass completes.
Update notes: What changed.
What we never publish
- No paid question-bank content in public files. Markdown mirrors, llms.txt, answer manifests, and every other public surface carry only public pages.
- No impersonation of official sources. Dentovio is independent and is not the Dental Board of California or any state dental board, PSI, the ADA, or an official government service.
- No recalled or "real" exam questions. Practice items are original and exam-style.
- No claim that a page was reviewed by a credentialed reviewer unless a named individual actually reviewed it.
