Idaho foreign-trained dentist residency pathway
In Idaho, the sourced state record generally points foreign-trained dentists toward a CODA-accredited DDS/DMD or advanced-standing pathway, not a residency-only route. Advanced-standing CODA DDS/DMD only. Idaho Admin Code 24.31.01.100.01 requires applicants to furnish proof of graduation from a program in dentistry accredited by CODA at the time of the applicant's graduation; Idaho Statute 54-915(2) requires a DDS/DMD from a board-accepted/approved dental school. A foreign (non-CODA) Confirm the current rule directly with Idaho State Board of Dentistry (DOPL) before choosing a program or filing an application.

Source notes
Specialty licensure separately requires a CODA-accredited postdoctoral advanced dental education program of 2+ full-time academic years AFTER a CODA DDS/DMD — this is not a substitute for the CODA dental degree for general licensure. License by credentials (54-916B) also requires CODA graduation.
