For dental license renewal in South Carolina, dentists need 28 hours / 2 years (14 hours/year) and dental hygienists need 14 hours / 2 years (7 hours/year). Dental assistants: No registered 'dental assistant' CE requirement. SC registers 'dental technicians': 8 hours / 2 years (4 hours/year). No state CE requirement for chairside dental assistants..
